BACKGROUND

The importance of knowledge-sharing and international cooperation on regulatory reform has increased significantly. International knowledge sharing and cooperation in the field of regulatory reform could provide a valuable resource to be taken account of when a country tries to cope with economic crisis. To increase mutual understanding and cooperation at the international level as well as regional level, it is suggested by OECD for Malaysia to co-host an international forum on Regulatory Reform with OECD.

OBJECTIVE

  • Build a common understanding among ministries and agencies of the critical importance of GRP in responding to domestic or/and international economic crisis;
  • Increase knowledge sharing and cross fertilization of knowledge bases between the various intergovernmental bodies working on GRP in Malaysia; and
