In order to increase the productivity and reduce regulatory burdens to the affected groups, MPC not only provide information, but also consultancy and training on specific areas such as Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA), Cost Benefit Analysis and Business Cost Calculator. MPC will also facilitate Ministries, Departments and Agencies to successfully develop and implement regulations that are in line with principles of regulatory reform that has been the practices internationally.
Consultations with Ministries, Departments and Agencies will also be undertaken regularly to assess their need for regulatory review and smart regulation. To ensure success in modernizing business regulations, emphasis will also be given to collaborate with partners at local and international levels. Currently we also engage in networking with key agencies, such the Malaysian Centre of Regulatory Studies (UMCoRS), University of Malaya, and the Australian Government Productivity Commission for regulatory review activities.
Compilation of international best practices on relevant regulations that affect the ease of doing business and competitiveness of Malaysia will also be provided. We hope that MPC can be the referral center for regulatory review efforts at the national and international levels.
