• Identify international reports related to competitiveness and innovation.
• Monitoring, review and analysis of the competitiveness reports.
• Conduct country analysis by regions to identify best practices of top performing economies covering both the quantitative and qualitative aspects of data
• Develop databases of best practices for policy recommendations and propose initiatives for improvements to the government and businesses.
• Engagement with relevant stakeholders (government, trade associations, business/industries) through taskforces.

 2. INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION 

• Partner institutes to international ranking organizations.
• Data acquisition, verification and validation.
• Provide consolidated statistical data to the ranking agencies
• Computation of index using the methodology adopted by the ranking agencies.
• Verification and construction of rankings by the ranking agencies.
• Provide inputs for policy formulation.

 3. STATE COMPETITIVENESS STUDIES 

• Monitoring Malaysia’s competitiveness performance through Malaysia Competitiveness Model, Framework and Indicators.
• Engagement with State Governments and agencies
• Undertake State Competitiveness Studies
• State Level Data Acquisition, Verification and Computation
• Produce State Competitiveness Reports
• Engagement with State Governments through the establishment of focus groups for further improvement.
