MALAYSIA is the 20th most peaceful country out of  158 nations,  according to a report  released yesterday. The 2012 Global Peace Index (GPI) compiled by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) scored  Malaysia at 1.485,  ahead of 158   countries, including Australia, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States. COUNTRY`S LITERACY RATE ABOVE 93 PER CENT

The number of children enrolled in preschools has climbed steadily since 2005, according to the Malaysian Quality of Life Index 2011 (MQLI). The MQLI, launched by Minister in the Prime Minister`s Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop here yesterday,  revealed that the percentage of 5 to 6-year-olds registered for preschool had increased from 16.2 in 2005 to 44.5 in 2010.
