KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) will continue to support Ecoknights` Anugerah Hijau or Green Awards as an annual event in its bid to promote green initiatives within the country especially among younsgters. Anugerah Hijau, which is orgnaised and managed by Ecoknights a non-profit environmental organisation, is a competition for secondary schools whereby participating schools need to submit the school`s green projects based on a theme given. MPC Manager for Green Productivity, Azlan Kassim, said this was the first time MPC supported the contest which has been organised since 2008. "We are currently working out details with Ecoknights on how we can continue to support the event. This is an initiative where we can continue to spread the idea of green issues towards youngsters, " he told reporters at an award ceremony for winners of Anugerah Hijau here Saturday. Meanwhile, Founder of Ecoknights Yasmin Rasyid said the response for this years` competition was encouraging with most schools in Selangor taking part in the state participation. A total of 27 submissions were received, doubling last year`s figure. The special award this year went to SMK (P) Sri Aman while SMK Bukit Jelutong won Widly Creative Category.
