Datuk Azman Mohd Yusof

Datuk Azman bin Mohd Yusof is the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA), a position he has held since 5 September 2024. He has served in the Malaysian public sector since 1992 and currently holds the rank of TURUS III, with more than three decades of experience in public administration, policy formulation, and national governance.


He holds a Master of Science in Public Administration and Policy from Saitama University, Japan, a Diploma in Public Management from INTAN, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from West Texas State University, USA, and has completed advanced executive programmes at Harvard Business School, INSEAD, Melbourne Business School, and the University of Oxford.


Datuk Azman has held several senior leadership positions, including Secretary-General of the Ministry of National Unity, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, and State Secretary of Perlis, and played a key role in public sector reform through senior appointments at the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and MAMPU, leading initiatives in organisational development, digital government, service delivery transformation, and policy reform. Earlier in his career, he served at the Public Service Department (JPA), the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, and the Prime Minister’s Department. He has also served on numerous national boards and statutory bodies, including PERKESO, HRD Corporation, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia, Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia, and MQA, and has represented Malaysia in ASEAN and international labour forums.


His service has been recognised through national honours including the Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN), Darjah Dato’ Paduka Mahkota Perlis (DPMP), and Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN).
