Partnering Government for Better Productivity

MPC works with ministries and agencies to strengthen productivity through Good Regulatory Practice (GRP). We review laws, simplify outdated rules, and ensure policies deliver results on the ground. This means lower compliance costs, clearer regulations, stronger trust, and better outcomes for citizens and businesses.

  • ASEAN-OECD GRPN Meeting

Since its establishment in 2015, the ASEAN-OECD Good Regulatory Practices Network (GRPN) has become a vital platform for advancing international cooperation in regulatory policy. What began with the inaugural meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, attended by 40 senior officials, has now grown into an annual conference that brings together more than 100 policymakers from across ASEAN and OECD member states.

Over the years, GRPN has provided an important forum for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and sharing of best practices on pressing global regulatory issues, including small- and medium-sized enterprises in global value chains, responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, sustainable development, and regulatory management in the digital era.

In 2025, the GRPN marks its 10th anniversary with an expanded three-day conference hosted at JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The program will feature:

Day 1: Review of good regulatory practices in Southeast Asia, drawing on key international frameworks such as the OECD Recommendation on Regulatory Policy and Governance, the OECD Best Practice Principles, the APEC-OECD Integrated Checklist on Regulatory Reform, and the ASEAN Handbook and Guidelines on Good Regulatory Practices.

Day 2: Forward-looking discussions on the role of regulatory practices in agile and adaptive governance.

Day 3: Practical workshops providing hands-on insights into the application of good regulatory practices.

This milestone event underscores that good regulation is not only about policy instruments, but about building effective systems that foster inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable societies.
