Datuk Zahid Ismail

Datuk Zahid Ismail was appointed on 1 October 2023 as Director General of Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), bringing with him over 33 years of experience in driving productivity and competitiveness initiatives across Malaysia. Starting his career at MPC in 1991, he has steadily risen through the ranks and has led impactful programs such as the Reformasi Kerenah Birokrasi, which generated compliance cost savings exceeding RM500 million, and the Akademi Dalam Industri, which enhances workforce productivity through academic recognition. He has also advanced key initiatives in artificial intelligence adoption, electric vehicle policy, and business climate reforms, while guiding more than 5,000 companies annually through the Productivity Nexus. Internationally, he plays a significant role in the Asian Productivity Organisation and ASEAN–OECD cooperation platforms. Under his leadership, MPC continues to spearhead economic reforms and strengthen Malaysia’s position in global competitiveness.
