LPN | Strategic Session on Transformation of The Logistics Industry
Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) through Logistics Productivity Nexus (LPN) successfully convened a two-day strategic session on transformation of the logistics industry. The session brought together over 20 representatives from both public and private sectors to deliberate on and validate the pressing issues, challenges and root causes faced by logistics industry players.
The primary objective was to identify bold and radical strategies, along with high-impact initiatives to effectively address these challenges and transform the industry. The session also featured a presentation by Puan Nazzatul Dasyeema from Pusat Logistik Negara (PLN), highlighting the current performance of Malaysia’s logistics sector.
Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions to formulate transformative strategies and initiatives that aim to modernize the structure and business models of the logistics industry, making it more technologically advanced, competitive and capable of delivering greater productivity and economic impact.
The strategies and initiatives identified are aligned with the five key thrust areas outlined in the Malaysia Productivity Blueprint (MPB) 2017 namely talent development, technology adoption, incentive structure, business environment and productivity governance.
In parallel, LPN is committed to strengthening collaboration with a broader range of industry players to ensure more inclusive input and effective strategies developed to address fundamental policy challenges in Malaysia’s logistics ecosystem.

Tarikh: 28 Julai 2025, Isnin Masa: 10 pagi Platform: Microsoft Teams Sesi ini bertujuan untuk meneroka peranan AKIE Group, sebuah francaisor yang komited dalam memperkasakan usahawan burger melalui pelaksanaan program keusahawanan di negeri Pahang. Syarikat ini menyokong 50 usahawan dari Pahang dan Putrajaya dengan membekalkan daging burger sejuk beku secara konsisten. Namun begitu, syarikat turut berdepan dengan cabaran utama termasuk isu logistik, kekurangan tenaga kerja, serta prestasi jualan yang tidak konsisten. Hasil daripada sesi perbincangan ini, RFBPN akan melaksanaan Program AI Produktiviti yang dirangka khusus untuk para usahawan di bawah naungan AKIE Group. Program ini bertujuan membantu usahawan memanfaatkan teknologi digital, terutamanya dalam aspek penghasilan kandungan promosi serta meningkatkan keberkesanan pelaporan prestasi perniagaan. Pendekatan ini bukan sahaja dijangka meningkatkan produktiviti dan kecekapan operasi, malah berpotensi memperkukuh daya saing usahawan burger dalam pasaran makanan yang semakin kompetitif dan dinamik.

Pelaksanaan kaedah ini dijangka dapat mengurangkan risiko kelewatan penyampaian notis, meningkatkan kadar bayaran kompaun dalam tempoh ditetapkan, serta menyokong amalan digitalisasi perbandaran ke arah perkhidmatan yang lebih efisien dan mesra rakyat. As a pilot, the productivity module will be introduced in Mechatronics and later expanded to other technical areas such as Electrical & Electronics, Air Conditioning, and Civil. As a way forward, a Train-the-Trainer session and a 1-day productivity workshop are also planned to ensure effective delivery. This initiative prepares future workers with the right mindset, skill sets, and competitive edge needed in high-performance industries. The upcoming Sarawak Skills Open Day (28 Oct – 1 Nov) will serve as a platform to promote this impactful initiative further. #SarawakProductive

MEPN through Working Group 4 successfully conducted the first session of the Risk to Resilience Workshop Series. The full-day programme was curated in collaboration with the Machinery & Engineering Industries Federation (MEIF), targeting SMEs in the M&E sector. The workshop equipped participants with key strategies to strengthen business resilience, including risk and business continuity planning, access to sustainability-aligned financing, and the adoption of digital tools such as ERP, MES, and PLM. Participants will benefit from 6 weeks of post-workshop support, preferential access to the THINK: M+E Programme, and a suite of strategic tools such as the Risk & Resilience Canvas, industry playbooks, and decision-making guides. This marks a significant step in MEPN’s efforts to future-proof the M&E ecosystem through structured, sector-focused capacity building

MEPN conducted an AI-focused training session titled “Embrace AI, Stay Competitive” as part of the ongoing Productivity in Context (PiC) initiative. The session was attended by engineering and manufacturing industry players, including business owners, managers, and IT decision-makers. The training introduced practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in improving productivity, operational efficiency, and cost management. Topics included ERP implementation, process automation, and AI integration in business operations. This initiative supports MEPN’s mission to promote digital adoption and resilience in the M&E sector through structured capacity-building programmes.
